Waiting on Wednesday (16)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine.
Star Cursed by Jessica Spotswood (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #2)
From Goodreads:
With the Brotherhood persecuting witches like never before, a divided Sisterhood desperately needs Cate to come into her Prophesied powers. And after Cate's friend Sachi is arrested for using magic, a war-thirsty Sister offers to help her find answers—if Cate is willing to endanger everyone she loves.

Cate doesn't want to be a weapon, and she doesn't want to involve her friends and Finn in the Sisterhood's schemes. But when Maura and Tess join the Sisterhood, Maura makes it clear that she'll do whatever it takes to lead the witches to victory. Even if it means sacrifices. Even if it means overthrowing Cate. Even if it means all-out war.

In the highly anticipated sequel to Born Wicked, the Cahill Witch Chronicles continue Cate, Maura and Tess's quest to find love, protect family, and explore their magic against all odds in an alternate history of New England.

First of all, I hate that they changed the covers for this series. Not that I was a huge fan of the original one, but I like it better than the new one. Also, when I buy Star Cursed it's not going to match my copy of Born Wicked. :(

But oh well. The cover doesn't really matter. What does matter is HOW EXCITED I AM FOR THIS BOOK. The first book was something I wasn't sure I was really going to like, but I ended up LOVING it. One of my favorite books of 2012. So I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of Star Cursed and find out what happens next.

What are you waiting on this week? Leave links to your WoW posts below so I can check them out. :)

  1. Oohhh this is another series I'd like to get!! It sounds awesome!!!

  2. Guess who has the same wow as you this week? me! lol, look at that.

  3. Yes! Super great pick! I had seen Born Wicked in the beginning of last year and new I had to read it! And I did. And loved it! I'm just bummed that they changed the cover >.< It doesn't match the signed one I have.

  4. Sounds pretty great! Haven't read the first one but maybe I'll get to it. :)

    Here's my WOW!

  5. I haven't even read Born Wicked yet and I'm excited for this! The cover is just so pretty and hopefully I'll enjoy the first book in the series to want to continue. :P New follower!

  6. I skipped over the actual, you know, book description--because sadly, I have not yet read Born Wicked! I'm hoping Books of Wonder will have the new version of Born Wicked, so I can pick it up when I'm there IN TWO DAYS!!! I've missed BoW SO much; my plan is to spend the entirety of my first paycheck from my new job there. (I mean, it's from a week of part-time work, so that's not as crazy as it sounds...but let's be real, the actual limit is how many books I can lug around all day!)

Anyway, sorry, I knew you'd understand my BoW love and I am also really excited to start reading this series.

    1. Yay Books of Wonder!!! I haven't been there in months. This whole "actually living in New Jersey" keeps getting in the way. But that is an awesome way to spend your paycheck. :D
Hopefully they'll have Born Wicked. It's SO GOOD.

  7. This sounds really INTERESTING! I need to add this to my TBR. :)

  8. Ooh, I still haven't read the first one but I've been meaning to! Guess I'll have to step it up now and get to it soon! Great pick :)
Thanks for stopping by my WoW this week!

  9. That sounds like a great series! I'd never heard of it so thanks for sharing!

  10. I didn't notice this was the second book in the series. I need to read the first. And sorry to hear about the cover change.

It's always annoying when they don't match up. Great pick!
